Corridor Reviews
A corridor refers to a linear road and its associated land uses. This can include a main roadway and any sidewalks, bike lanes, green space and/or bus stops located along that roadway.
As part of MoveSmart, the City of Vaughan has retained independent consultants to undertake six In-Service Road Safety and Corridor Operational Reviews (Corridor Reviews) in the following areas:
- Beverley Glen Boulevard (Bathurst Street to Dufferin Street)
- King-Vaughan Road (Albion-Vaughan Road to Cold Creek Road, Huntington Road to Pine Valley Drive)
- Kipling Avenue (King-Vaughan Road to Teston Road)
- Pine Valley Drive (King-Vaughan Road to Teston Road)
- Pleasant Ridge Avenue (Rutherford Road to Langstaff Road)
- Valley Vista Drive (Bathurst Street to Dufferin Street)
Review maps of the study areas below.
These reviews will examine the current and future transportation planning and mobility infrastructure needs for the specific corridor under review. By assessing traffic operations in these areas, the City can identify additional road safety opportunities for pedestrians, cyclists, transit and vehicular road users to better serve all modes of transportation. Throughout these reviews, the City will collect data on and examine vehicle speeds, traffic volumes, site conditions, and existing traffic control and calming measures.
These reviews will enable City staff to make recommendations on short- and long-term implementation plans to address any specific issues identified in these areas, which will be presented to Council for approval.
Phase 3 underway
Following public consultations in Phase 1 and Phase 2, a set of proposed traffic improvements have been developed for Beverley Glen Boulevard, Pleasant Ridge Avenue and Valley Vista Drive, and you’re encouraged to get involved.
As part of the next phase in this study, you’re invited to review the maps below outlining the proposed traffic improvements for each of these corridors and provide feedback by emailing the project team at CorridorReviews@vaughan.ca before Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023. These improvements are the result of a comprehensive review of traffic operations in the study areas and have been carefully designed to address public feedback and the essential and evolving needs of all road users.
The three additional corridors (King-Vaughan Road, Kipling Avenue and Pine Valley Drive) remain under review. Stay tuned to learn more about the proposed traffic improvements for these areas.
