Important Infrastructure improvements are coming to the Block 22 area of the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) as part of the City's Watermain Improvements and Road Rehabilitation Program!

  • Phase 1 work is scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026 and is anticipated to be completed by November. 

The first phase of construction will include replacing watermains and the second phase will include road improvements.  

 

Work will take place on the following roads:

  • Doughton Road, from Jane Street to Maplecrete Road
  • Maplecrete Road, from Peelar Road to Highway 7

  • Peelar Road, from Maplecrete Road to Peelar Road

Road Allowance By-law 126-2024

Under the Road Allowance By-law 126-2024, the City is not responsible for damage that may occur during construction to privately-owned items located on City property, including landscaping and underground systems like lawn sprinklers. Removing privately-owned underground systems, at the owner’s expense, is recommended before work begins.
