Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Master Plan Class EA
The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) has long been planned to become the city’s “downtown,” but the vision of a mixed-use centre with a concentration of high density employment and housing has yet to be realized.
The planned extension of the Spadina Subway to the VMC and new Provincial policy initiatives set the stage for a reconsideration of existing plans.
The City of Vaughan has undertaken a Municipal Servicing Master Plan Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study to assess what municipal servicing improvements and/or modifications to the stormwater, water and wastewater services will be required to implement the development objectives outlined in the proposed Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Secondary Plan. The projects are being assessed with the intention of fulfilling the Phase 1 and Phase 2 requirements of the Municipal Class EA process.
