Forestry Operations

The City’s Forestry Operations division is responsible for maintaining more than 135,000 trees and 195 hectares of woodlots.

Tree-related activities such as tree pruning and removals, tree planting, permitting and implementing guidelines and policies on the preservation and protection of trees are part of Vaughan’s current forest programming.

In 2022, the City of Vaughan was recognized among the “2021 Tree Cities of the World” by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Arbor Day Foundation for the 2021 calendar year.
