Today is the first day of Fire Prevention Week, which runs until Saturday, Oct. 14. This year’s theme is “Cooking safety starts with YOU!” and Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service (VFRS) is taking this opportunity to educate the community about the importance of being fire aware in the kitchen.

Vaughan Animal Services (VAS) is dedicated to creating a safe community for pets and their owners – which includes offering microchipping services and rabies vaccines.
Book an appointment to bring your pets to a microchip and rabies clinic at the Vaughan Animal Shelter (located at 70 Tigi Crt., Unit 47) on Sunday, Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call the City of Vaughan at 905-832-2281 to schedule your timeslot. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
