Beat the heat at Vaughan community centres and splashpads

Looking to beat the heat in Vaughan this week? With a heat warning in effect for Vaughan and the GTA, and temperatures expected to be above 30 degrees Celsius with humidex values of 40 degrees Celsius, the City is reminding residents there are many places to cool off.  
 
The City’s 10 community centres offer air-conditioned public spaces, washrooms and change rooms, as well as water-bottle filling stations. They will be open during regularly scheduled hours.

Escape the heat and humidity at Vaughan community centres

With the temperature expected to hit 30 degrees Celsius and a humidex of 40 degrees Celsius over the weekend, the City of Vaughan is reminding residents that they can escape the heat by visiting local community centres.

Mayor's golf tournament scores hole in one for community groups

Golfers came together for a round of golf at one of the City’s best courses yesterday to raise thousands of dollars for not-for-profit and community organizations. The Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua Annual Charity Golf Classic was held at the Eagles Nest Golf Club on July 7. 
 
The proceeds from this annual event and the Mayor’s Gala go to support the more than 100 community groups that provide essential services to the people of Vaughan.

Vaughan announces business mission to China

Ten-day mission aims to increase trade and build new relationships
 
The City of Vaughan hosted an information session with more than 50 business representatives yesterday and announced that it is leading an innovative business mission to China in October. As part of the City’s International Business Development Program, the primary goal of this mission is to develop trade relationships in China and establish Vaughan as a preferred location for Chinese investments.

City of Vaughan Offices Closed for Canada Day

All City of Vaughan municipal offices, including Vaughan City Hall and the Joint Operations Centre, will be closed for the Canada Day holiday on Wednesday, July 1. Offices will reopen on Thursday, July 2.
 
Vaughan community centres, libraries and the animal shelter will also be closed on Wednesday, July 1, reopening on Thursday, July 2.
 
The Thornhill Outdoor Pool will be open on July 1 from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for length and parent and tot swim, and from 12:30 p.m.
