Woodbridge Library has officially reopened!
It’s official – the newly renovated Woodbridge Library has reopened with improvements everyone will enjoy!
Celebrations were held today at the library, located at 150 Woodbridge Ave., with Mayor Steven Del Duca, Members of Council and the Vaughan Public Library Board. The event included a ribbon-cutting, remarks from Mayor Del Duca, free activities and more.
This renovation has increased the library’s space by 730 square feet and introduced several upgrades, including:
an expanded entrance area with higher ceilings and more windows.
more seating.
- facility upgrades to comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, including an upgraded elevator.
glass walls added to the lower level and children’s area.
new flooring.
new LED lighting.
updated washrooms.
The City contributed approximately $2.38 million and received almost $445,000 from the Government of Canada, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), to complete these improvements.
These enhancements create a brighter, more accessible and inviting space for all visitors to enjoy – whether you’re borrowing a book, attending programs or simply relaxing in the new seating areas.

QUOTES
“After many renovations, today we celebrated the official reopening of Woodbridge Library! Located in the heart of historic Woodbridge, this revitalized facility includes a brighter, more accessible and inviting space to meet the needs of everyone in the community. As Mayor, I’m committed to building spaces for connection, creativity, learning and recreation, and I’m thrilled this beautiful facility will be that space for many years to come. I want to express my gratitude to the Government of Canada for helping fund this important city-building project. Now, come out and explore all that Woodbridge Library has to offer!”
– Mayor Steven Del Duca
“Woodbridge Library has been at the heart of the community for decades, and we are excited to welcome back customers after this significant renovation. If you visit to relax and read a book or newspaper, you’ll discover that we’ve increased casual seating, and if you’re here to study, you'll find more spaces to do so throughout the library. Families will enjoy the expanded children’s area, while the new and larger elevator provides easier stroller and wheelchair access to our collections, programs, and services. All of this is enhanced by a completely reimagined entranceway, with floor-to-ceiling windows that beckon in passers-by and showcase the beauty of this neighbourhood gem. With bright and modern finishes throughout, this is not the Woodbridge Library you remember. We look forward to welcoming customers old and new through our doors this fall.”
– Margie Singleton, Chief Executive Officer, Vaughan Public Libraries
