Vaughan stands united in giving!
The City raised $80,000 for United Way Greater Toronto
The City of Vaughan is celebrating the generosity of staff who came together in 2025 to raise $80,000 in support of United Way Greater Toronto through pledges, fundraising events and a contribution from the Spirit of Generosity initiative.
At today’s Committee of the Whole (1) meeting, Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council recognized employees for their outstanding efforts and continued commitment to giving back to the community.
Led by a dedicated staff committee and campaign chair Raphael Costa, Director of Economic Development, the 2025 campaign featured a variety of fundraising initiatives, including a bake sale, silent auction and pool tournament. Many employees also chose to contribute through payroll deductions.
The funds raised will help United Way Greater Toronto continue delivering vital services and programs across the region, including mental health supports, food and shelter assistance, after-school programs and other community services. In 2025, the organization funded more than 650 programs serving more than 1.8-million people across the GTA.
