Vaughan rises up to make a difference
2025 Mayor’s Gala raises funds to support the Spirit of Generosity
Last night, more than 900 community leaders and business professionals gathered for Mayor Steven Del Duca’s 2025 Mayor’s Gala at Universal Event Space to support the Spirit of Generosity, an initiative that continues to make a positive impact and inspire change in Vaughan.
All funds raised during the 2025 Mayor’s Gala will be directed to the Spirit of Generosity, which continues its meaningful support of more than 250 non-profit and community organizations, including children and youth groups, healthcare initiatives, seniors’ organizations and special needs programs. Since 2011, the Spirit of Generosity has raised millions of dollars to enhance the lives of many in our community and throughout Ontario – it aims to give hope for a more promising tomorrow.
With the theme of “Rise Up Vaughan,” the 2025 Mayor’s Gala, as highlighted in Mayor Del Duca’s keynote address, focused on celebrating the tireless efforts of the dedicated residents, community organizations and public officials for investing in something bigger than themselves, and recommitting to the work ahead.
QUOTE
“I was delighted to see so many generous members of the community attend the 2025 Mayor’s Gala in support of the Spirit of Generosity; Vaughan continues to rise up and contribute millions of dollars to worthy causes around our city. It was a privilege to see America’s Got Talent winner Kodi Lee perform, not only because he is a wonderful singer, but also because of his inspiring charitable work with DANI, a Canadian organization that provides programming for individuals with disabilities. Vaughan is an ambitious city with a long and proud history, one that’s been influenced by champions and leaders who are committed to giving back to the community, like many of last night’s attendees. I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported the Spirit of Generosity over the years and for continuing to give. Thank you for all that you do to help make a difference in Vaughan, so we can build an even better future for our current residents and for generations to come. When we come together as a community, there is truly nothing we can’t do.”
