For several years, the City has been in a very strong financial position and has been able to maintain one of the lowest property tax rates in the Greater Toronto Area. Its rigorous budgetary process has focused on containing costs and implementing best practices, with the goal of developing realistic and responsible financial plans. This year's Budget guidelines continue to build on those core values and successful business practices. Public input is an important element of the budget process and participation is encouraged.
