NEW: Vaughan Seniors Hub officially open!
There’s a new space for older adults to connect, stay active and thrive in Vaughan. Through a partnership with Seniors Focus Inc., the City of Vaughan is expanding opportunities for seniors to access programs, build relationships and support their well-being close to home.
On April 27, Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council celebrated the official opening of the Seniors Hub (31 Woodbridge Ave.) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking an important step in strengthening services for Vaughan’s growing older adult community.
The new hub reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to building an inclusive, accessible and age-friendly community. By supporting independent, active and healthy aging, Vaughan continues to create spaces where residents can remain engaged and connected at every stage of life.
The City consults with its Age-Friendly Vaughan Advisory Committee, which makes recommendations that address older adult issues and the promotion of healthy seniors in Vaughan. This includes recommendations on Vaughan’s Older Adult Recreation Strategy, Vaughan Age-Friendly Community Action Plan (PDF), and programs and services that make Vaughan a more age-friendly community, where all residents can be active and engaged members of society at every stage of life.
As Vaughan continues to grow, so does its senior population. By 2031, adults aged 55 and older are expected to represent more than 30 per cent of the population – making investments like the Seniors Hub increasingly important to supporting community health and well-being.
QUOTES
“Older adults are the heart of our community. We are standing upon the very foundation they built with dreams of growing a once-small town to the great, thriving city we know today. At the City, it’s incredibly important for us to promote the inclusion of older adults in all areas of community life, so they can continue to thrive, regardless of age or ability. That’s why I’m so pleased to celebrate the grand opening of this highly anticipated Seniors Hub. This space represents much more than a building – it’s a place of genuine connection, support and opportunity for older adults in Vaughan. I want to thank Seniors Focus Inc. for their partnership and for continuing to demonstrate an unwavering dedication to our older adult population and supporting healthy aging.”

Older adults have helped shape the city we’re proud to call home, and it’s only right that we introduce more spaces that support their well‑being, independence and quality of life. I want to thank everyone at Seniors Focus Inc. who made this vision a reality, and Mayor Steven Del Duca for championing this project. I know this space will be well-used and well-loved for many years to come. Congratulations!”
