You can help by providing input into the Lawford Area Traffic Study

Do you live on or near Lawford Road? Do you have kids who attend Guardian Angels Catholic Elementary School, Johnny Lombardi Public Elementary School or Tommy Douglas Secondary School? Then we want to hear from you as we work to make the area safer for all road users.

The City of Vaughan is conducting a traffic study for the Lawford Road Neighbourhood. The study area includes Lawford Road, Stanton Avenue, Chatfield Drive and Poetry Drive along with associated local roads, such as Sedgewick Place and Farooq Boulevard that directly connects to these roads.

By assessing traffic operations in this neighbourhood, we can identify additional road safety opportunities for pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders and vehicular road users to better serve all modes of transportation. This review will also help inform recommendations on short- and long-term implementation plans to address any areas for improvement. The study is anticipated to be completed by late 2023.

Have your say to help shape the future of your community! There are many ways to get involved:

Attend a virtual information session

We are hosting a virtual information session on Thursday, June 15 at 7 p.m. This is your opportunity to hear updates directly from the project team and ask any questions. A recording of the presentation will be available at vaughan.ca/LawfordStudy following the session.

Complete a survey
Take an online survey about road safety in the Lawford Road area and share what you would like to see changed or improved. It will take about eight minutes to complete and is available until Wednesday, June 21.

Pin a location on the map

Drop a pin on the map in the location(s) where you experience traffic or transportation challenges. The feedback collected will help inform future improvements. The mapping tool will be available until Wednesday, June 21.
