Keeping Vaughan moving
Huntington Road widening from Langstaff to Rutherford Roads
The City of Vaughan is taking another major step to fight traffic gridlock and to help families move faster across our city with the widening of Huntington Road between Langstaff Road and Rutherford Road.
Earlier today, Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council gathered to announce this important transportation project, marking another milestone in building a more connected Vaughan.
Once complete, Huntington Road in this area will be transformed into a four-lane roadway with two lanes in each direction, designed to keep traffic flowing safely and smoothly. It will also feature:
- a new structural culvert crossing West Rainbow Creek.
- a new underground storm sewer system.
- a new signalized intersection at Huntington Road and Trade Valley Drive/John Lawrie Street.
- in-boulevard multi-use pathways and sidewalks for cyclists and pedestrians.
- new streetlighting.
The project is anticipated to be complete by 2030, delivering long-term transportation benefits that support growth and keep Vaughan moving.
