Ward 3 Civic Hero Award presented to Aldo Di Cristofaro

Aldo Di Cristofaro is a local volunteer, a strong voice for seniors and a generous philanthropist who is invested in the future of his city. At a Committee of the Whole Public Hearing meeting tonight, Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council presented him with the City of Vaughan’s 2019 Ward 3 Civic Hero Award.

Aldo has been a resident of Canada since 1965 and is a long-standing citizen of Vaughan. As president of the Valle Peligna Socio-Cultural Association, he continues to strengthen social, cultural and economic ties between Vaughan and the Abruzzo Region of Italy. He is also an advocate for seniors who encourages and promotes an active and engaged lifestyle for Vaughan’s older adult population.

Aldo and his wife, Celsa, together have three daughters and six grandchildren. To celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, Aldo and Celsa generously donated $50,000 to the Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital – the city’s first hospital and the first smart hospital in Canada.
