Blue Willow Square

The City of Vaughan recognizes the value local parks bring to communities and their families. Plans to enhance Blue Willow Square (99 Blue Willow Dr.) are in place and you can get involved.

Currently, the park contains a small play structure, a central gathering area with a fountain, benches and trellises, a modest garden, trees and an open greenspace. City staff have identified several potential park enhancements for the surrounding community’s consideration, including:

  • a shade structure.
  • a pollinator garden and naturalized planting.
  • central area upgrades (i.e. seating areas, sculptures, landscape planting).
  • playground enhancements.
  • an outdoor fitness area.
  • an activity area (i.e. yoga decks, ping pong, open lawn space).

The City received Section 37 funding to enhance Blue Willow Square. This type of funding is generated from some new developments built within a “planning block” (a neighbourhood) for local improvements.

Get involved

Residents were invited to attend an Open House on March 21 at Chancellor Community Centre to provide input on proposed park enhancements they feel will most benefit the neighbourhood. Thank you to those who attended!
