Learn About Trails

The City of Vaughan is committed to providing safe active transportation infrastructure with significant advancements made in strategies, policies, legislation and guidelines for the planning, design, implementation, education and operations.

In collaboration with the Infrastructure Planning and Corporate Asset Management Department, Parks Planning strives to provide safe on and off-road active transportation and recreational opportunities throughout Vaughan. Parks Planning is dedicated to the enhancement and expansion of Vaughan’s multi-use recreational trails, connecting and creating an interwoven green parks and open space network.

Key Objectives

  1. Identify and develop new trail opportunities within existing and future Vaughan parks and open Space.
  2. Collaborate with external government bodies, such as Province of Ontario, York Region, the Toronto Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), to provide regional on and off-road trail connections.
  3. Promote active community engagement to help identify trail enhancement opportunities throughout Vaughan.

A key initiative that is being led by Parks Planning is the Vaughan Super Trail is a bold initiative to create a world class, identifiable 100 kilometre city-wide trail loop system connecting a variety of off-road pathways and on-road pedestrian and cycling paths.
