Happening tomorrow: Vaughan’s Pride Month celebration

You’re invited to the City of Vaughan’s Pride Month celebration tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.)!

This FREE event will feature official remarks from Mayor Steven Del Duca, a flag-raising ceremony, community remarks and refreshments.

Pride is an annual observance, celebrating and recognizing the Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and other gender and sexually diverse (2SLGBTQ+) communities by highlighting their histories, achievements and ongoing struggles for equal rights and acceptance. This event is a celebration of 2SLGBTQ+ social and self-acceptance, accomplishments, legal rights and pride, serving as a platform to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

Pre-registration is encouraged. Confirm your attendance online.

The City has proclaimed Pride Week every year since 2003 and Pride Month since 2020, and celebrated through various events, including the raising of the rainbow flag during Pride Week and hosting official flag-raising ceremonies. This year, the City has once again proclaimed June as Pride Month and will commemorate it through this community Pride event and flag-raising ceremony.
