This Unit is tasked with primarily enforcing the Parking By-law. They are also responsible for assisting with the enforcement of zoning, dumping and noise complaints after hours. Staff in this unit provide twenty four hour coverage to the City of Vaughan.
Parking Enforcement in Vaughan is delivered by applying both a proactive and reactive methodology. Officers patrol the City, providing education and encouraging compliance to the Parking By-law and issue Tickets/Penalty Notices for parking violations on City streets. Staff also patrol commercial and private property for disabled and fire route violations. Although the City offers the service of parking enforcement on private property for a fee, private property enforcement is, for the most part, undertaken by private security companies that are authorized by the City to issue penalties.
The Parking B-law 1-96, as amended, regulates parking in the City of Vaughan. Unless otherwise posted, parking is prohibited for longer than 3 hours between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm and parking is prohibited on all streets in the City of Vaughan between 2:00 am to 6:00 am. These regulations are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week all year long. For a full list of parking infractions click here.
