Walk, run and meditate for RecAssist
Fundraiser on May 25 helps low-income residents access rec and swim programs
Every year, the City of Vaughan hosts a fundraiser in support of RecAssist – a program that helps subsidize the cost of recreation programs and swim lessons for low-income individuals and families in Vaughan.
This year, we’re inviting everyone to take part in a five-kilometre walk or run followed by a 60-minute yoga class in the park on Saturday, May 25 at the Maple Nature Reserve (PDF) located at 10401 Dufferin St. The walk/run will start at 9 a.m., and yoga in the park will take place at 10:15 a.m. Note, you are required to bring your own yoga mat.
To take part, you must register by Friday, May 17 at vaughan.perfectmind.com with a minimum donation of $15 for each event. Participants who make donations of $25 or more will be issued a tax receipt for the 2024 tax year. The fundraising event is open to all ages, and you’re welcome to bring your dog, provided it is leashed, along with strollers and trekking poles. Parking is available at the lot located off Dufferin Street.
