Budget Public Consultation Process Continues

​The Finance and Administration Committee will be finalizing discussions relating to the 2011 budget at the two remaining meetings. The public is encouraged to attend.

The meetings will take place Monday, March 21 from 1 to 4 p.m., and Monday, March 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Both meetings will take place in Committee Room 242-243 in Vaughan's new City Hall, 2141 Major Mackenzie Drive.

The Proposed 2011 Operating and Capital Budgets will be presented at a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday, April 5 at 7 p.m.

For several years, the City has been in a very strong financial position and has been able to maintain one of the lowest property tax rates in the Greater Toronto Area. Its rigorous budgetary process has focused on containing costs and implementing best practices, with the goal of developing realistic and responsible financial plans.
