The City of Vaughan collects and stores a wide range of infrastructure engineering drawings. These drawings can be requested by the public at any time (administration fees apply). If you already know the type of drawing(s) you are looking for, you may submit a drawing request online. Please review the sample drawings below prior to making a request.
Cross Section | Sample Drawing (PDF)A cross section drawing is a cutaway or section view of proposed infrastructure. This view allows a better visualization of the layers involved in the construction. A cross section also known as a “typical section” generally shows additional details which apply to all corresponding construction in the drawing set (i.e., layers of a new pavement structure, pipe bedding and backfill, layers of a retaining wall, etc.) True cross sections show detailed information at specific points.
Detail | Sample Drawing (PDF)A detail drawing provides further detail or specification about certain areas of an object such as streetlights, bridges, tunnels, roadways, assembly, or parts that are generally shown in less detail within large-scale drawings.
General | Sample Drawing A (PDF) | Sample Drawing B (PDF)A general drawing can consist of two categories:
Grading Plan | Sample Drawing (PDF)A grading plan shows the various elevations and slopes to be constructed in a development. It is intended to show the cut and fill necessary on a site and how water will drain on the completed site.
Pavement Marking | Sample Drawing (PDF)Pavement marking drawings are plan view drawings identifying the traffic roadway, and the markings on a road or parking facility. These marking can consist of lane arrows, stop lines, pedestrian crosswalks, parking lot lines, bike lane direction and much more.Plan and Profile | Sample Drawing (PDF)Plan and profile drawings are engineering drawings which show a plan view and a corresponding cutaway profile view on the same sheet. They typically show roads, and may include various underground utility information as well, such as sewers and watermains.
