Sports Field Hotline
In order to preserve the quality of City of Vaughan sports fields, staff maintain the fields with the assistance of the Managing Use on Premium Fields Policy and Wet Field Policy (PDF).
If there is a heavy rainfall (10 millimeters within an eight-hour period) and saturation on the sports fields, they may be temporarily closed.
Sports Field Closure Update
- All synthetic turf sports fields are OPEN for permitted use
- All natural turf soccer fields are CLOSED for permitted use
- All baseball diamonds are CLOSED for permitted use

About Sports Field Closure Alerts
If you sign up for a sports field closure alert, an email will be sent directly to you with all the details about the closing and opening of the fields. The alerts will also be posted below.
In order to receive alerts, you must create a profile on the City’s website and sign up for the Sports Field Closure Alert. You can do this by registering and creating a profile. You will have to confirm your registration by clicking the activation link found in the email sent to you. Once your profile is created and you have signed up for the alert, you will receive updated reports on sports field closures in Vaughan. Visit vaughan.ca/support for more information.
