s part of the City's COVID-19 response, the City of Vaughan Archives remains closed to the public at this time. For more information on all affected City services and when they may resume, please visit: vaughan.ca/covid19.
 
 
The City of Vaughan Archives is open and accessible to everyone. To access the collection, please contact us to schedule an appointment and ensure your requested materials are prepared for your arrival. Please be as specific as possible when describing your research needs, as the more details we have, the better we can assist you!
 
The Vaughan Archives is located in the Lower Level of City Hall and is open to the public during regular business hours. Appointments can be scheduled from 8:30 am – 4:15 pm Monday through Friday. ** Please note: While the Archival Research Room is open to the public, individuals wishing to review records need to schedule an appointment in advance of their arrival. Appointments are required, due to limited seating capacity. ** ​
Parking is available for free on the east and west lots of the building, however visitors are asked to register with the Security Desk upon arrival.
When arriving at the Archives, researchers will be asked to show proof of identity and complete a quick registration form (PDF). Requested materials will be made available in the Archives’ Reading Room and staff will provide assistance as needed. Researchers will be asked to wear  white, archival quality gloves when handling fragile materials, and only pencils are permitted in the Archives. Researchers are invited to bring and use laptops, USB keys and cameras (no flash) during their visit, however food and drink are prohibited. A light table, microfilm reader, DVD player and magnifiers are also available to use in the Reading Room. Should you require copies of materials, photocopying is available for a fee.
