To continue to protect the health and well-being of everyone in the community, the City’s annual Remembrance Day event was held virtually on Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. Citizens who were unable to participate can view a recording of the broadcast.
This year’s digital exhibit, “The War Effort Seen Through Their Eyes: Recollections and Mementos of the World Wars”, offers all who view it a deeper connection between past and present by showcasing deeply personal war artifacts, such as letters, mementos, photographs and maps. Participants will gain an understanding of the experiences of those who lived during and beyond the World Wars, including the struggles, impact on everyday life and associated triumphs. The City seeks to recognize and commemorate the contributions of both soldiers and those on the home front by sharing these unique perspectives.
Thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion and the 283 Woodbridge Legion Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron for their participation in this year’s virtual event.
