COVID-19 Service Updates
In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Vaughan has reviewed and made adjustments to its regularly scheduled spring and summer public works operations. Services have been prioritized with a focus on the safety and well-being of everyone in the community, including front-line staff. Here is a list of what is on schedule, reduced, delayed or suspended.
 
The Traffic Engineering Services Division is responsible to ensure the safety of all users of City owned roads, sidewalks and walkways. A number of services are provided to achieve this, including but not limited to:
 

All-way Stop Requests:

  • To  install all-way stop control, when the Provincial all-way stop warrant is met

Speed Compliance Program:

  • Conduct speed studies
  • Neighbourhood cut through traffic reviews
  • Review traffic calming requests

Parking/Stopping Prohibition Requests:

  • Conduct parking studies and surveys

School Crossing Guard Program (in consultation with the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer):

  • Conduct pedestrian studies

Traffic Signal Installations:

  • Design and install traffic signals / pedestrian signals when the Provincial/ City warrant is met
    Review traffic signal operation

Maintain traffic signs and pavement markings throughout the City.

Review special event applications (for traffic impacts) for road closures, festivals and street parties.

Paid Permit On-Street Parking Policy

  • Review Application Criteria and Policy
  • Apply for Paid-Permit On-Street Parking on your block/street
