Help make winter waste collection safer for front line staff
Vaughan's goal is "target zero" with no masks, gloves, tissues and wipes entering the blue box. Masks, gloves and wipes must be securely bagged and placed in the garbage for collection. Tissues and paper towels should be bagged and placed in the green bin.
Blue boxes containing these items may be left behind byt the waste collectors. Please do your part and help protect our frontline workers! Waste collectors will be suing new stickers to communicate this issue with residents.
Set back from road
All recycling and waste set out must be at the curb, on or beside your driveway, on the designated collection day by 7 a.m. During heavy snowfalls, waste materials must be set back from the curb approximately three feet (one metre) on the right side of the driveway (when facing the house). This set out helps prevent waste materials from being knocked over or buried during snow clearing operations.
