The Development Engineering Division is responsible for the review and approval of new municipal infrastructure (roads, sewers, watermain, sidewalks, streetlighting) related to development, and the review of the engineering aspects related to development applications including Official Plan Amendments, Zoning, Draft Plan of Subdivision, Site Plan and Committee of Adjustment.  
 
In conjunction with development applications, staff review engineering studies including municipal servicing feasibility reports, storm water management reports, geotechnical reports, and environmental noise assessments.   
 
The Development Engineering Division prepare and administer subdivision, development and servicing agreements, which are the legal documents that are used to implement the development of new subdivisions.
 
 
The Development Engineering Division also maintains the City’s engineering standards/criteria documents that are used to provide guidance to consulting engineers involved in designing new municipal infrastructure.
