The City of Vaughan has undertaken a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) study to assess the need to extend Bass Pro Mills Drive, from Highway 400 to Weston Road, as recommended in the Vaughan Mills Centre Secondary Plan (2014). These recommendations were made to:
Based on the findings of this Class EA study, the Preferred Design consists of the relatively straight extension of Bass Pro Mills Drive, from Highway 400 to Weston Road, and a new, 30 m road right-of-way that accommodates, four lanes of vehicular traffic (two lanes in each direction), a separated sidewalk and cycling path, and boulevard on both sides of the roadway, including intermittent drainage retention, streetlighting and streetscaping features. The existing Highway 400 bridge will be modified to include a sidewalk on both sides of the roadway, and two vehicle lanes in each direction.
An Environmental Study Report (ESR) has been prepared to document the study process, consultation efforts and recommended plan. The Notice of Completion places the ESR on public record for review for 30 days beginning Thursday, August 18, 2022 and ending September 19, 2022. The ESR can be downloaded on the Project Updates page. Please see the notice for details on the study and how to provide comments or questions on the ESR.
