Background
In 2009, the City of Vaughan constructed and opened the first primary off-leash dog park in the Concord/Thornhill Regional Park. Since that time, residents identified a desire to have a second primary off-leash dog park. In 2016, the City completed a public consultation process to identify a second location for an off-leash dog area west of Highway 400.
Through the 2016 consultation findings and based on strong community support for smaller local off-leash dog areas, the City is continuing to explore additional spaces for pets to roam free.

The primary off-leash dog park site selection west of Highway 400 draft report, findings and recommendations were presented and discussed at the Committee of the Whole meeting on Dec. 6, 2016.
