Project Updates

The City of Vaughan is currently seeking input on a new proposed community park in the area of Peter Rupert Avenue and Rutherford Road.

The project is in its preliminary visioning phase, with detailed planning for the park to begin in 2020.

The City held a public open house on December 5, 2019 to get feedback on the future park. A needs assessment was conducted with the community and input was gathered through the public open house supplemented by an online survey conducted through the month of November 2019. The City is currently in the process of hiring a master planning consultant team to move forward with establishing a final program and park concept building on the results of the needs assessment community consultation. Additional community input will be solicited through the park concept development process in the future.

The open house included an opportunity for children to provide input into the process and were invited to produce their own vision and dream for this new park:

Students from the nearby School of St Cecilia Catholic Elementary School took on the challenge in their classroom and provided the City with ideas and drawings for this new exciting park!
