There’s nothing like spending summer in the City of Vaughan’s many beautiful parks and trails – but dumped garbage bags and litter can ruin the experience! Keeping the community clean is a team effort, and you can help make a big difference.

Reminder: every other week leaf and yard waste starts June 14
The City of Vaughan reminds you that weekly leaf and yard waste collection is ending soon. Every other week collection will start on June 14, on your garbage collection week. Remember to place these materials curbside no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before and no later than 7 a.m. on your collection day.

More areas added to the City’s new on-demand rideshare service
Vaughan commuters: the City’s Rutherford and Maple GO Mobility On-Request Pilot Program is expanding to serve you better! Launched this May in partnership with Metrolinx and York Region Transit (YRT), this new on-demand rideshare program makes it even easier for you to commute to and from the Rutherford and Maple GO stations. And now, additional service areas in the Vaughan community are being added!

Join the Traffic and Speed Management Study virtual information session
You are invited to get involved in the City of Vaughan’s Traffic and Speed Management Study for the Athabasca community. Register for the virtual Public Information Session that will be hosted via Zoom on Monday, June 20 at 7 p.m. to learn about the proposed traffic solutions for the area. A Zoom link to the live session will be provided prior to the meeting.

Welcome to the David Braley Vaughan Metropolitan Centre of Community!
Vaughan’s emerging downtown core – the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) – is home to Vaughan’s first university, first subway station and, now, a new state-of-the-art recreation facility and library. The City of Vaughan, Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) and the YMCA of Greater Toronto invite the community to join Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua, Members of Council, members of the Vaughan Public Library Board and members of the YMCA’s Board on Monday, June 20 for the official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the David Braley Vaughan Metropolitan Centre of Community.
