Hot weather is in the forecast, and the City of Vaughan is reminding residents to take precautions to stay cool. This could include bringing the kids to one of the recently reopened splashpads across the community!
Extreme heat affects everyone. The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors. Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks in a cool place.
To help beat the heat, the City of Vaughan recommends the following tips:
As part of the City’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, most facilities, including community centres and swimming pools, continue to remain closed to the public to help prevent the spread of the virus.
Splash pads are not supervised and require everyone to take precautions – maintain physical distancing and ensure hands are sanitized before and after use.
