QUOTE

“I called this special Council meeting to take further action to safeguard the health and well-being of our community. From the beginning, the City introduced a series of measures to help break the transmission of COVID-19 and provide much-needed relief to citizens, families and businesses. We closed all facilities within parks, waived penalty charges on interim property tax bills, increased waste collection, cancelled water and wastewater increases and launched the Vaughan Business Action Plan. I want to reiterate my appreciation to all workers maintaining essential services. Let me remind the public that ignoring self-isolation or physical distancing advice can have devastating effects and endanger lives. We are in this together, and we will emerge stronger.”
- Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua
