Ward Boundary Reviews examine the City’s current ward boundaries and develop options for changing the boundaries in order to achieve an equitable system of representation for municipal elections.
In 2016, the City of Vaughan retained an independent team of consultants to conduct the 2016 Vaughan Ward Boundary Review. The consultant team was a partnership between the Canadian Urban Institute, Beate Bowron Etcetera, The Davidson Group and Hemson Consulting. Supervised by the City of Vaughan, the consultant team proposed three options for new ward boundaries that would achieve equitable representation for municipal elections in 2018, 2022 and 2026.
