National Public Works Week 2020

Since 1960, the third week in May has been celebrated as National Public Works Week (NPWW). Municipalities across Canada use this week to educate, engage and inform the public about the essential role public works plays in the quality of life. Equally important is promoting public works as a career choice for the future workforce and recognizing those who currently serve in these vital roles.

Each year, National Public Works Week has a unique theme and this year’s is “the Rhythm of Public Works.” The theme challenges citizens to think about their communities as a symphony of essential services, working in concert to create a great place to live. Every community has a rhythm and heartbeat that reflects its tempo of life.

The City of Vaughan recognizes National Public Works Week (May 17-23) and the dedicated staff who go above and beyond to provide Vaughan with front-line services that safeguard and enhance the quality of life in this growing city.
