Fares and rates
Taxi fares must be posted in the vehicle in a place you can see them. Taxes are included in these rates, and any charges not covered by the tariff should be agreed to by you and the driver before the trip starts.
Passenger transportation service providers must provide you with either the full fare for your specified trip or the method by which your fare will be calculated.
Here are some important tips to remember:
- Service providers can set their own rates but these must be filed with the City and always communicated to a passenger prior to the commencement of a trip.
- Service providers cannot charge any extra fees in relation to accessibility requirements.
In the event of a dispute with a service provider, take note of the licence number as well as the date and time of your trip. Contact the City to file a complaint.
