Ringing in the Year of the Ox – virtuallyThe Vaughan community is invited to ring in the Lunar New Year with Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council on Friday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. Join in at vaughan.ca/live to welcome the Year of the Ox at the City’s first virtual Lunar New Year event. This will mark the 10th annual City of Vaughan Lunar New Year celebration.
International Women’s Day has grown into a global day of recognition and acknowledgement, celebrated across developed and developing countries, and reflects upon women’s struggles, both past and present, as well as their achievements by optimistically looking towards a future of inspired change and opportunity.
InSpirit Festival celebrates the city of Vaughan’s cultural mosaic through city-wide arts and cultural programming that fosters community participation and pride. InSpirit focuses on the culture of yoga and the importance of community togetherness with free events city-wide, including family yoga, tai chi and Bollywood dance. The festival also recognizes the month of May as Asian Heritage Month in Ontario.
The City of Vaughan’s Music in the Square event series is held in partnership with SmartCentres and Arcadia Live! Productions. The event offers fun, free musical and cultural events taking place all summer long in Vaughan Metropolitan Centre’s (VMC) Transit Square - the core of Vaughan’s emerging downtown.

Culture Days 2020 is going virtual! Culture Days is extending beyond the traditional weekend to a virtual, more inclusive and interactive 4-week schedule of activities.Kicking off September 25 and running until October 25, Vaughan Culture Days invites everyone to participate in and show appreciation for arts and culture in our own communities and nationwide!The Vaughan Culture Days website will act as a promotional platform for creators of every kind to showcase a variety of virtual and in-person activities. Going digital allows participants to virtually explore the City and discover live-streamed performances and other online presentations.Activity registration for organizations is now open!
