Effective today – Monday, May 2 – Vaughan City Hall and the Vaughan Animal Shelter are reopening to the public – the latest step in the City’s disciplined, responsible and measured approach to close and gradually reopen City facilities and amenities in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

There’s no better time to kick-start your backyard composting journey than during Compost Awareness Week, on now until Saturday, May 7. The City of Vaughan is here to help you with this process. Backyard composters, with instructions on how to successfully turn your food scraps and leaf and yard material into garden fertilizer, can be purchased from the convenience of your home at vaughan.ca/ServiceVaughan.

Public Meetings continue in May
The City of Vaughan recognizes the importance of protecting citizens from the global COVID-19 pandemic while also continuing to move the city forward. Supporting this direction, Committee and Council meetings will transition to a hybrid approach with both in-person and virtual options available starting Tuesday, May 3. Members of Council and the public will have the option to attend in-person or remotely.
