City of Vaughan Council consists of the Mayor, three (3) Regional Councillors and five (5) Ward Councillors. The Mayor and the Regional Councillors are elected by a general vote of all the eligible residents of Vaughan to sit on Vaughan Council, as well as to represent the City on York Regional Council. The other five serve as Ward Councillors and are elected to Vaughan Council by ward.
