166 Years of History - Vaughan's Story
Page Content

From farmland to becoming one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada, Vaughan has come a long way in the past 166 years.

This exhibit is a snapshot of Vaughan’s history and evolution since 1850. Although Vaughan’s past goes back much further to First Nations people and French explorers, this exhibit begins in 1850 when Vaughan was first incorporated as a township. It then moves decade by decade until it reaches present day. Along the way, the exhibit highlights some of Vaughan’s major events as well as the people and places that shaped the city and made it what it is today.
