Ensuring that all cats and dogs are properly identified through licensing, reuniting stray cats and dogs with their families, re-homing unclaimed strays, finding rescue for those who cannot adjust to "shelter life", and through education and outreach, ensuring comliance with by-laws for the municipalities we serve.
What We Do:
Vaughan Animal Services offers cat and dog licensing, by-law education and compliance services and pick up of sick or injured stray cats and dogs. Animal Control Officers may issue tickets or summons to appear in court and they have the authority to impound stray animals.
Our Shelter provides lost and found assistance to safely reunite owners with their lost pets. The Adoption Center is for stray animals that have not been claimed. We have open adoption hours (no appointment necessary), so please come by and visit us soon!
Hill's Science Diet "Second Chance for Love" shelter program has partnered with us and is donating pet food for all dogs, cats, kittens and puppies being cared for here. We no longer need individual pet food donations thanks to this partnership, however we do have a "wish list" of urgently needed items for the animals in our care. Simply ask any staff member for details.
Thank you for your continued support!
