City-operated facilities offer a wide variety of sports, skating and shinny hockey options. From drop-in activities to registered programs, everyone can stay active.



HOLIDAY HOURS & ACTIVITY SCHEDULES

Family-friendly drop-in leisure activities are offered at recreation facilities across Vaughan during holiday breaks throughout the year.

Sports  

Drop-in sports offer adults with busy schedules the flexibility to stay fit. Local community centres offer basketball; badminton; ball hockey; bowling (family); soccer; table tennis; volleyball; and more.

Skating & Shinny Hockey at Vaughan Arenas
 
Unsupervised Morning/Lunch Time Skating & Shinny:
Begins: Monday, September 15, 2014
Ends: Sunday, March 22, 2015
(Extended season applies to Al Palladini Community Centre only, ending Sunday, May 15, 2015.)

Skating & Shinny:
Begins: Saturday, October 18, 2014
Ends: Sunday, March 22, 2015
 

Whether you are looking to play Shinny Hockey, enjoy recreational skating or want to learn how to skate, City of Vaughan arenas and outdoor rinks offer drop-in activities and registered programs for all ages.


Skating
Open to all ages. Children under 7 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Family Skating
Open to families only. One adult skater is required to accompany children/youth 17 years or younger.

Shinny Hockey Parent & Child:
A parent or guardian supervised program. Participation restricted to one adult (18 years+) per 2 children (6-12 years).

Morning/Lunch Time Skating
A free, unsupervised program open to all ages. Regularly scheduled lunch skates are cancelled during holiday activities and PA days. Children under 7 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Note: Lunch time skates and shinny hockey are unsupervised.

Please bring your own skates; skate rentals are not available.
