The City’s Recreation and Culture Department recently undertook a review of its programs and services to determine how best to meet the needs of today's youth. In an effort to meet the needs of this growing demographic, Vaughan Council approved the Youth In Action - Youth Strategy 2009 & Beyond Plan. |

The City of Vaughan continues to be one of the fastest growing municipalities in Canada. Part of this growth will be an expected increase in the youth demographic over the next five to ten years.
The Youth In Action Strategy outlines five key goals: to increase youth participation in physical activities; to expand program selection for youth; to provide programs and services to youth in geographically underserved areas; to increase the number of active youth memberships, and to increase the awareness of youth programs and opportunities. Surveys with more than 1,200 Vaughan high school students helped form the basis of the Strategy. |
