The City of Vaughan is celebrating National Public Works Week by inviting residents to attend the annual Public Works Day event on Saturday, May 25.
Vaughan’s recent entry in a competition showcasing excellence in Geographic Information System (GIS) technology has resulted in a 2013 People’s Choice Award.
Vaughan Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council joined Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, Transportation Minister Glen Murray, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Linda Jeffrey and Vaughan MPP Steven Del Duca at Conair/Cuisinart Consumer Products in Vaughan today, where the Premier announced the government's commitment to extend Highway 427 to Major Mackenzie Drive.
The Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service is urging residents to use caution on the Victoria Day holiday weekend when using fireworks. Residents are encouraged to attend public fireworks displays hosted by a responsible organization.
Website visitors who register an online profile on vaughan.ca will now be entered into a contest to win gift cards to popular Vaughan attractions. The contest runs May 15 to August 16, 2013, with two new winners chosen at random each month.
