Located within the Greater Toronto Area, there are three universities, an art college, and five community colleges. In 1995, close to 500,000 full-time and part-time students were enrolled in post-secondary education at these institutions.

University of Toronto
Canada's largest university offers a full range of courses in humanities, social and physical sciences, and professional programs. Located in downtown Toronto, with campuses in Scarborough and Mississauga.

York University
Canada's largest graduate management school, York's Schulich School of Business, has distinguished itself nationally as a pioneer in innovative management education programs. Located within the City of Toronto at Vaughan's southern boundary.

Ryerson Polytechnic University
Canada's only polytechnic university, offers programs through the Faculty of Arts, Applied Arts, Business, Community Services, Engineering, and Applied Science.
